What is the role of art in the world?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 01, 2008:
Art is not only a way to express yourself, but a way to connect with others. Art is like music. They both are universal languages, however they are interpreted differently, they still are the purest ways of communication. Because art cannot cause harm and neither can music.
